12576 Oresme (1999 RP1) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 5, 1999 by P. G. Comba at Prescott. It is named after Nicole Oresme, bishop of Lisieux, who conceived the representation of time-varying quantities by two-dimensional graphs.[1]
